With the great reviews of the XD-E500 here on Amazon I knew the upconversion would be very good, but it was even better than I expected, it was great. I played POTC At Worlds End and Planet Earth (I also have PE in HD),they looked as good as HD to me. The only minus the XDE has is the lack of resume play once the player is shut off, but it's a small problem in comparison to all the good things this player does.
